Frequently Asked Questions

What is the primary purpose of youth soccer?

  1. Teach children individual and team sportsmanship.

  2. Teach children the fundamentals of soccer.

  3. Teach children to have fun and love the game of soccer.

How do I know if my game is cancelled due to weather or wet conditions?

In general, soccer games will NOT be cancelled due to rain.  However, if there is lighting or if the fields are extremely wet, the games will be cancelled.  Each soccer club is responsible for determining whether or not the games in their city or village will be cancelled.

In Plymouth, the Field Maintenance Coordinator and Coaches' Coordinator will make the determination.  If the decision is made to cancel the games in Plymouth, it will be broadcast on WXER (104.5 FM) and on the home page of this website: www.pysa-wi.org.  The Plymouth coach is responsible for contacting the opposing coach to notify them that the game in Plymouth has been cancelled.  Please contact your opposing coach early enough so he/she has time to contact his/her players before they travel to Plymouth.

If you are scheduled to play in another city or village and are concerned the game may be cancelled, contact the coach of the opposing team.

How do I reschedule a game?

If you find you need to reschedule a game (regardless of the reason), it is your responsibility to contact the opposing coach and arrange a date and time which is convenient for both teams.

When rescheduling a game in Plymouth, be sure to contact the Coaches' Coordinator to insure a field is available.  In addition, you need to contact the Referee Coordinator for the following reasons:

  1. Cancel the refs who were scheduled to ref the original game

  2. Arrange to have refs at the rescheduled time.

What color shirt should my team wear?

Home=Light             Visitor=Dark

If you are the home team, your players should have the LIGHT side of their shirt exposed.  The DARK side of the shirt should be exposed if you are the visiting team.  Typically, the visiting team is listed first and the home team is listed second on the schedule.
